I dedicate this book to all the children of divorce, both young and old, who are searching for meaning and peace in their lives. I want to give them hope. After forty years of searching, I have finally come to peace with my own life. I now realize that God loves me, and even when I didn’t realize he was there, he was watching over me and leading me. My message to all children of divorced parents out there is God loves you. He is protecting you and watching out for you. He has a will and purpose for your life. He will show you the way. No matter how bad things seem right now, keep breathing and keep believing. Even though your earthly mother or father may have let you down, your heavenly Father will not.
In my story, I hope you can find yourself, and that my lifetime of loss and searching will help you in your life’s walk. I wish I could have learned the lesson of Isaiah 4110 when I was a child. It would have helped me through some very dark times. I ask you to please read this verse every day of your life and believe it, all of your days.

Over the last thirty years Shane Watson has become one of the most respected fishing fleet operators in America. He has been featured on television and in print media around the world. His fishing reports and teachings have influenced a generation of people. Shane Watson is a devoted father, husband, mentor, and a member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta. In January, 2010, Shane Watson was inducted into “The Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame” as a Legendary Guide. This is a wonderful book. I am a child of divorce and now 36 married with my own children. I no longer speak to my Mom due to the pain she has put me through. As for my Dad I speak to him occasionally. I feel that I have to protect my wife and children from them. I forgive them but they are negative people and I do not want that negativity in my families life. This book was an emotional read as it brought me back to when I was 8. Thank you as it was also inspiring as well. If anybody is a child of divorce this is a must read. God Bless YouProduct details

Homeless to Hall of Fame eBook Capt Shane Watson Reviews
Divorce is a word I know very well, it can be very hurtful especially to children. When parents marry again is a tough one especially if the new spouse is abusive. This book is an eye opening for any one that has went through this and stepped into the world of abuse. Captain Watson did, his step father was an abusive man, and they made his childhood difficult, but through all of this God had bigger and better plans for him to become Top Fishing Guide in America. God truly is a way maker. This true story is uplifting and very inspirational, it speaks volumes into you as you read.
I would highly recommend this book to everyone from teens and up, so they can see that even through diversity God can still bless his people.

Divorce can be the most devastating tragedy in the life of children. It can be especially devastating when parents remarry, and step-parents become abusers. Captain Watson lived through a childhood that no child should ever have to. His parents divorced when he was young. His young life was upended and his sense of security was taken from him. When his mother remarried his life got even more difficult for him. His Step-Father was an angry and abusive man. These events would have destroyed any child, and led them to a life of sorrow. Through the grace of God, Captain Watson was able to overcome his childhood and became on of America’s Top Fishing Guides. This is a story of the grace of God overcoming the pain of divorce and abuse. His is a story that shows how through God, we can become more than conquerors. It is an inspirational story that should encourage the downtrodden to keep fighting and trust God.
Captain Watson has a truly inspiring story to share with the world. As far as his book Homeless to Hall Of Fame, this is a great book. It includes a lot of detail about his struggles in life, but it seems like there could be more information from his early life. I was a little disappointed that the book seemed to end too soon. It would have been great to tell of his rise from obscurity to becoming a leading fishing guide and hall of fame member. It is a great story and I would definitely recommend the book to others. It would have been great to read just a little bit more about his life and how God has blessed him in business and personal life as an adult. He provides so much information about his childhood, but leaves me wanting more of his life story in adulthood. What he has included does show the great power of God over all that this world can try to throw at a person. God can get a person through any trial and bring them out on top.

My Review
I am not a child of divorce but was interested in reviewing this book to see how the author related to the cards he was dealt and what God had meant to him then and now. The author begins most of the book with his childhood---his story if you will and then relates to us God's place in it all. No one knows God's will and sometimes it seems as a human being nearly impossible to follow His will. Thats when we need His help after all if we depend on ourselves, what pray tell do you need Him for?
The author seems to realize this in his life early on. My husband has went through something very similar ans as a result has lost all respect and trust for his mother. When my husband embarked on the calling to ministry, he never realized what the lack of trust for his mother would do to impact his journey. Sometimes forgiving those that have hurt us so deeply will be required to get closer to God. It will also be necessary to fulfill His calling in our life.
This book is almost an exact replica of my husbands life and I know what a struggle his past has caused in his adult life. I wish that, for no child! I hope they know an unadulterated love that only God can give very early on in their lives so that they are able to lead a mighty life for a mighty God.

Pretty boring book
Very well written book. Even though time are tough this book hits it on the head. God is always there. It reminded me of how life was for me when I grew up. Great read. I want to go fishing with Shane now.
